PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS
Many people are not familiar with gel-based nail enhancements, and that's okay!
Here are some basic descriptions.
BUILDER GEL
Builder Gel, BIAB (builder in a bottle), or hard gel is a thick, self-leveling liquid gel which is applied to the nail and then cured under an LED light. It may be applied over a nail tip (similar to acrylic or dip) to create a nail extension. Or, it may be applied to only the natural nail (this is called and overlay) to create a stronger, flawless surface as the base for gel polish.
While hard gels cure just as hard as traditional acrylics, they don't have that strong chemical odor. The application method for builder gel also minimizes skin exposure to chemicals. The methods used for dip nails are less sanitary and frequently cause allergic reactions after prolonged regular exposure. In my opinion, builder gel really is the only choice that keeps clients happy and healthy long-term.
The builder gel I use, from the GelBottle, Inc. is clear so when you come in for a fill, I can take off the top layer of paint, check that your natural nail underneath is healthy, inspect for structural issues, apply the new product, and paint your new color without doing any damage to the natural nail. Even with a very cautious, experienced nail tech, nail removal and preparing the nail for new product repeatedly causes the most damage to the natural nail. So I eliminated the need for that!
GEL POLISH
Gel polish is similar to traditional nail polish, but it cures in a UV/LED lamp and lasts several weeks without chipping.
My two go-to brands iGel Beauty and the GelBottle, Inc. I love that iGel Beauty is a Texas-based company. The GelBottle, Inc. has the most highly pigmented polishes and most densely-packed glitter colors. If you ever wonder if I have a color, send me a picture and I'm happy to find it for you!
NAIL POLISH
I also use iGel Beauty's polish because the quality is excellent and the color selection is beautiful. Come check out my polish wall!
